Description

SolarWinds IP Address Manager (IPAM) allows you to ditch the spreadsheets and automate your IP tracking. It provides centralized DDI (DNS, DHCP, and IPAM) management across your entire network, including on-premise, VMware, and cloud environments.

IPAM alerts you to IP address conflicts, subnet exhaustion, and DNS mismatches. It integrates directly with Microsoft DHCP/DNS, Cisco DHCP, and BIND, allowing you to provision IPs and update DNS records from a single console.

Trending FAQs: IP Management

Q: How is IPAM licensed?

A: IPAM is licensed by the number of active IP addresses you want to manage. For example, the IP1000 license supports up to 1,024 active IPs. Unused IPs in your subnets do not count against the license limit.

Q: Does it replace my Windows DHCP server?

A: No, it manages it. IPAM overlays your existing Microsoft/Cisco DHCP servers, giving you a unified console to create scopes, reservations, and leases without logging into each server individually.

Q: Can it detect rogue devices?

A: Yes. By scanning subnets and comparing active IPs against your known list (and integrating with UDT), IPAM can highlight IPs that shouldn't be active, helping identify rogue devices.

Q: Does it support IPv6?

A: Yes, SolarWinds IPAM fully supports IPv6 address planning and tracking alongside IPv4.
