Q: I virtualized this server. Do I need to change licenses?
A: Yes! If you moved this database to a VM, you should upgrade to the "Virtualized" license (which includes the VM Option) to get visibility into the hypervisor layer. We can handle this during renewal.
Q: Can I add the VM Option to this license?
A: Yes, if you don't want to switch SKUs entirely, you can purchase the "VM Option Add-on" separately. However, upgrading to the Virtualized bundle is often cleaner.
Q: Does this cover Oracle RAC?
A: Yes, DPA supports RAC. You need one license for each instance (node) in the RAC cluster.
Q: Is this per-core?
A: No, DPA is always per-instance. Whether your physical server has 4 cores or 128 cores, the renewal price is the same.
