Q: Does this renew my main product (e.g., NPM) too?
A: No. This is only for the Additional Polling Engine. You must renew your main product license (e.g., NPM SLX) separately, although we usually bundle them in a single quote.
Q: I'm moving to SolarWinds Observability. Do I still need this?
A: It depends. If you move to the Enterprise tier of Observability Self-Hosted, APEs are included! If you move to Essentials or Advanced, you may still need this separate APE subscription. Contact us for a migration assessment.
Q: Can I reduce the number of APEs I renew?
A: Yes. If you have optimized your polling or removed devices and no longer need the extra capacity, you can choose to renew fewer APEs. We can help you check your current element count to decide.
Q: What happens if I upgrade my main license to Unlimited (SLX)?
A: Upgrading the main license increases the allowed capacity, but the APE provides the horsepower to poll it. Even with an SLX license, if you have 20,000+ elements, you still need the APE to distribute the load.

How do I renew a licence or subscription?

How and when do I receive my licence?
By e-mail. The licence key is sent to the e-mail address on your order within 24 hours of your paid order. Nothing is shipped.
Who supports the product after I buy?

Who invoices me, and can I get a formal quote for a purchase order?
